Scotch-Brite™ Clean & Strip XT Pro Disc features silicon carbide abrasive minerals incorporated into an open nylon web. Our discs effectively remove rust, paint, mill scale, coatings, and adhesives from surfaces while causing only minimal alteration to the underlying material.

Achieve improved surface preparation without compromising material integrity when preparing metal surfaces or removing rust and paint with the Scotch-Brite™ Clean & Strip XT Pro Disc. These discs combine a new type of fiber strand, resin system, and silicon carbide abrasive mineral to create a thick, open-web construction. The resilient fibers conform closely to the contours of the workpiece, increasing the contact area for faster material removal.

The discs adapt to weld irregularities, making it easy to blend and clean welds without excessive stock removal. They also provide excellent access to hard-to-reach areas without damaging the substrate. The silicon carbide abrasive cuts aggressively while leaving a fine finish. Unwanted discoloration, contaminants, and impurities are removed efficiently, while the geometry of the workpiece is maintained, reducing rework and helping to improve productivity.

The open-web structure allows debris and swarf to pass through the disc, minimizing loading and clogging. To ensure consistent cutting performance throughout the product’s life, the reinforcing resin gradually breaks down during use, exposing fresh fibers and newly sharpened silicon carbide abrasive particles. The durable fibers resist tearing and perform exceptionally well on edges.
