3M™ Heavy Duty Duct Tape 3939 offers the tensile strength and adhesion required for splicing, masking, sealing, seaming, multi-layer hanging applications, sealing PVC pipe, covering trip hazards, and a wide range of other industrial uses.

3M™ Heavy Duty Duct Tape 3939 is constructed with a water-resistant polyethylene film laminated to a cloth reinforcement and coated with an aggressive natural rubber adhesive. The tape provides excellent adhesion and conformability. It tears easily and cleanly in both horizontal and vertical directions without fraying.

Industrial applications include hanging polyethylene sheeting for containment and enclosure systems, masking, and protecting surfaces from light sandblasting overspray. It is also widely used in the exhibition and events industry for securing and seaming carpet padding, taping down cables, and mounting display panels.

3M™ Heavy Duty Duct Tape 3939 can be used at temperatures up to 93°C (200°F). It has been flame tested in accordance with UL 723, ASTM E-84, NFPA 255, and UBC 8-1 test methods, achieving a Flame Spread Index of 0 and a Smoke Developed Index of 30.
